The San Antonio Rodders are a 501-C3 Non Profit Charity based Car Club. Each year the Club holds a Car Show with all profits going to organizations selected by the membership deemed needing assistance. Members are asked to volunteer to assist with the car show by obtaining sponsors to offset expenses as well as helping run the show itself.
Candidates for membership must attend at least one club sponsored event and get to know the Members while we get to know them.
A Club Member must act as a sponsor to the Candidate. This Member will be responsible for explaining how the Club operates and what expenses the Candidate may expect to incur. The sponsoring Member will act as the Candidate's guide during the initiation process. A copy of the Club Constitution and By-Laws will be provided to the Candidate. The Candidate will be responsible for familiarizing himself with these documents.
The Candidate will be required to attend three meetings in a row and participate in as many activities as possible during this three-month period. Once the Candidate attends the three meetings, a vote will be held at the fourth meeting at which time the Candidate will become a Probationary Member for a six-month period. During this six=month period the Candidate will not have a voice in Club affairs nor be permitted to vote during the meetings. The probationary Member will be given a club car plaque, a Member T-shirt and the official Club Cap. This cap is worn by Club Members only.
New members are encouraged to get to know each Club Member and Club Members are also asked to get to know the new Member. At car shows we usually find some shade or set up pop-up tens and sit together. WE should all work to keep some topics off limits during our discussions such as politics and religion.
All Cars must be older than 1972.
